DACC Foundation Hosts Honors Program: Record-Breaking Scholarship Awards Nearing $1 Million

For the 2022-2023 academic year, Danville Area Community College Foundation awarded a scholarship to 100 percent of the students who applied and chose to attend the College. The Foundation awarded 658 scholarships valued at more than $945,000.

“$945,450! My goal is to make it to $1 million next year,” says Tonya Hill, Executive Director of the DACC Foundation. “This is a generous community and we have loyal donors. I know we can do it!”

DACC Late Start Classes Available for Fall 2022

It’s not too late to Write YOUR Story at DACC! Register for Fall late start classes at Danville Area Community College. The Fall 2022 late start classes begin September 19 and October 17.

DACC will be offering in-person and online late start classes.

Remember, there is a $600 tuition discount for anyone who registers FULL TIME for Fall.

DACC 2022 Oktoberfest 2-Player Scramble to be Held Fri., Sept. 30 & Sat., Oct. 1

Danville Area Community College is holding the 2022 Oktoberfest 2-Player Scramble on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1, 2022. The Two-Player Scramble benefits the DACC National Basketball Tournament Fund. The event will be held at the Danville Country Club.

The cost is $300 per team - Two Player Scramble. Entry includes 2 rounds of golf, Friday night admission into the Oktoberfest dinner/party, lunch on Saturday and prizes.

Donations Gift More than $20,000 of Instruments to DACC

The Danville Area Community College Music Program was pleased to accept over $20,000 worth of instruments from two generous donors. Michael “Guido” Esteves, Coordinator of Community Engagement and co-director of the DACC Pep Band, was contacted by friends Daniel Applegate and Stefanie Pratt about two separate instrument donations during the same week of August 15th.

DACC Welcomes Students Back to Campus

Daily Events Planned for Opening Week

The DACC office of Student Engagement is planning a week of activities for the first week of school, beginning Monday, August 22. Each day will be themed. Other than Food Truck Friday, all daily events are open only to students and employees.

Money Monday, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, is hosted by the Financial Aid office and DACC Foundation in the Student Union. The event will offer financial literacy tips, work-study and student worker campus job opportunities, information about the campus food pantry, and treats.

Volunteers Needed to Join the Ranks of DACC's Literacy Tutors - Help an adult learn to read

Did you know that one in every five adults has difficulty reading the newspaper, the instructions on a medicine bottle, or a note from their child’s teacher? There are more than  20 million adults in the United States -- hundreds locally – who share this problem. Literacy tutors are needed to assist these adults in improving their reading skills.

DACC Hosts Informational BARBER COLLEGE Meetings

Danville Area Community College is hosting Informational BARBER COLLEGE meetings. These informational meetings will be held on Tuesday, July 19 and Wednesday, July 20 at 6:00 p.m. in the DACC Bremer Conference Center Theater.

Join us during one of the two dates to learn more about the brand new barbering certificate and associate degree program.

Healthcare Professions Training Offered by DACC’s Corporate Education

Danville Area Community College’s Corporate Education department is offering Healthcare Professions training starting August 11, 2022. The following training is being offered:

• EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN training will be offered Thursdays, August 11-December 15, 2022 from 6:00pm-10:00pm. The EMT-Basic certification is the first of three levels of certification and training available for emergency medical services personnel. It often is a prerequisite for earning EMT-Intermediate and Paramedic certifications. Fee of $750 is due at the time of registration.
